Medication Packing Service
Medication Packing Services we provide include:
Multi-dose sachets
We supply individual resident’s medications securely and hygienically packed in our own Premium Pharmacy Services Sachets, and packed by our automated robotic medication dispensing system. These are small biodegradable paper packets which contain the resident’s medicines for a particular date and dose time. Each sachet is labelled with a unique identifier for quality assurance. The resident’s name, photo of the resident, and the drugs contained in the sachet as well as their dose and description are printed on the sachet itself. If needed, medications can even be crushed in their sachets, reducing medication round times, risk of medication loss, confusion or mess.
Our sachets typically come in a 7 day roll providing you with all you need for that period. Each sachet has a perforated edge so that it is easily separated from the one following. An easy tear top mean accessing the contents is effortless. Our productivity audits have found that the use of this sachet dosing system can reduce nurse medication round times by up to 25%.
We also provide Medicine Storage Containers to make storing and accessing your resident’s sachets even easier (insert a photo of the sachets)
Multi-dose Webster-pak
Our Multi-dose Webster-paks provide medication packed in a sealed weekly calendar blister pack, clearly labelled with the resident’s name, photo of the resident, room number and a full description of the medications packed. We can also customise the administration times to help your staff accurately administer medications to each individual resident. As well as packing regular medications in a multi-dose pack, we also provide colour-coded Webster-paks for short-term orders, such as antibiotics, schedule 8 drugs (drugs of addiction) and drugs that may require special care, such as warfarin and cytotoxics. Unit-dose Webster-pak
Our Unit-dose Webster-paks are similar to the Multi-dose Webster-paks, however in this instance each Webster-pak contains a single medication, usually representing a one month supply in each sealed pack. This Unit-dose Webster-pak system does make changes to medication therapy a lot easier, as individual paks can be added or discarded depending on the changes made by the prescribing doctor Various colour-coded packs are also provided for short-term orders, such as antibiotics, schedule 8 drugs (drugs of addiction) and drugs that may require special care, such as warfarin and cytotoxics. Original Manufacturer pack dispensing
This may be an option for some Residential Care facilities, where we dispense and supply all the residents medications in their original manufacturer pack, and labelled by the pharmacy with the appropriate prescribed directions. This system is probably more suited where the medication is dosed to the resident by registered nurses.
